There’s a lot more to keeping a complete kitchen exhaust system properly maintained than just degreasing the hoods and filters immediately over your cooking area. As you can see in our diagram of a kitchen exhaust system, the other parts of the group need regular attention too. Here’s a list of services we can provide for you, and details for each:

- Our staff has years of experience in assessing the regular service needs of a commercial kitchen exhaust system. We can free you from the concerns of what services need to be done and when to do them.
- Last minute, “emergency” service calls will become a thing of the past.
- You can be confident that regular servicing of your equipment will free you from worries about fire, safety, and employee and customer comfort.
- We enable you concentrate on your business, while we take care of the service details.
- Exhaust System Cleaning: Thorough cleaning of the entire system, from the kitchen hood to the exhaust fan on the roof. For this service, we:
- Remove hood filters and other items requiring separate pressure washing and move them to washing area.
- Cover all vulnerable equipment and surfaces with thick plastic sheeting to prevent contamination or damage.
- Scrape stubborn deposits to bare metal, apply environmentally safe chemical cleaners, and let the surfaces soak.
- Repeat the process shown above for the exhaust hood, duct work, and fans on the roof
- Rinse with high-pressure hot water and clean up all standing water using wet/dry vacs and mopping tools.
- Take all grease and other waste away from the premises immediately.
- Review the cleaning with manager to assure your satisfaction.
- Exhaust Fan Maintenance: Assessment and repair of maintenance items related to the roof exhaust fan group. For this service, we:
- Perform basic inspection of fan motor, bearings, belt(s), blades, housing, wiring and ductwork for wear or damage.
- Cover all involved equipment and roof surfaces with thick plastic to prevent damage.
- Scrape stubborn deposits to bare metal, apply environmentally safe chemical cleaners, and let the surfaces soak.
- Rinse with high-pressure hot water and clean up all standing water using wet/dry vacs and squeegees.
- Grease motor and fan bearings. Replace belt if necessary/advisable.
- Test exhaust fan with remaining parts of system for proper operation.
- Remove all grease and other waste from the premises immediately.
- Review the service and cleaning with manager to assure your satisfaction.
Note: Basic inspection, cleaning and belt replacement are important preventive maintenance items. If motor replacement or wiring work is needed, we will recommend a company for you, or you can see our Helpful Links page.
- Duct Access Panel Installation: Location and installation of new access panels that will allow improved duct cleaning. For this service, we:
- Cover all involved equipment and roof surfaces with protective plastic if appropriate.
- Analyze ductwork from top of hood in kitchen to output of exhaust fan on roof to determine optimum placement for new panels.
- Cut new openings in existing ducts to proper size for improved cleaning access.
- Install newly fabricated covers on duct openings, located per National Fire Prevention Association code. Covers used will be same gauge as ductwork or greater.
- Test entire exhaust system for proper operation and noise level.
- Remove all waste material from the premises immediately.
- Review the service with manager to assure your satisfaction.
- Pre-inspection checkup: Analysis of the strengths or weaknesses in your system prior to official fire, safety, or health inspection. For this service, we:
- Check hood, filters, ductwork, and exhaust fan for obvious defects such as loose, grease-laden, noisy, missing,or inoperative parts.
- Examine area of roof surrounding exhaust fan for grease, torn membrane, corrosion, water or air leaks, etc.
- Test exhaust fan for noise, bearing wear, and smooth movement of air.
- Check that level indicators on fire prevention equipment show full charge.
- Test entire exhaust system for normal operation.
- Review the service with manager to assure your satisfaction.
