The Hood Cleaning Company

FAQ

Why is Hood Cleaning Important?
Besides being mandated by law, regular hood cleaning is very important to the health and safety of your staff and customers. Kitchen exhaust systems are made up of four basic elements: a hood, filter(s), a duct system, and a fan (learn more).  Their purpose is to remove grease vapors and cooking residues from the kitchen and purge them to the atmosphere.  In the process, some grease will condense on the interior of the duct system and enough may accumulate to create a serious fire hazard. Ignition of oils on the cooking surfaces can send flames up into the exhaust system, setting fire to this grease build-up. The fires burn at extremely high temperatures and can ignite surrounding areas.  They may reach the roof and burn the entire building.
